The following shops were not included in last’s year’s article on independent bookstores. All of these bookstores host multiple book clubs.

Lost and Bound Bookstore and Soda Bar
1805 S. Morgan Rd. OKC  73128

Lost and Bound opened on April 25, 2025 in a small shopping center in the SW part of the city. It comprises two spacious rooms with plenty of natural light. Most of the stock is new books, with a small selection of used items.

The shop offers a selection of romance, fiction and historical fiction, fantasy, thrillers, LGBTQ, and young adult titles. Nonfiction items include celebrity biographies and food-related books including A Year of Chocolate, The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurant Cookbook, and Ultimate Bread. Used books include a few Captain Underpants titles, The Devil Wears Prada, The Innkeeper’s Wife, and The Healing Herbal Teas. A separate children’s corner has books for all ages and pictures of characters from children’s books on the wall.

At Lost and Bound you will also find handmade tote bags and jewelry, bookmarks, T-shirts and a small soda fountain.

Best of Books

Best of Books has been in Edmond for 41 years.

Half the store is devoted to children’s materials, with activity books including origami, mad libs, puzzles, stickers, and coloring. For younger kids, there is a good selection of Dr. Seuss books, and older kids will find biography, science, graphic novels, reference, young adult and classics.  A table for Black History Month displays books about Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Beyoncé, Michael Jordan, and others.

The adult section contains fiction, romance, local authors, entertainment, classics, fantasy, and sci-fi. The history section includes books on the space program, the U.S. Constitution, World Wars I and II, and a recent book by Dana Bash and David Fisher entitled America’s Deadliest Election (spoiler alert:  it was in 1872).

Best of Books also sells mugs, art supplies, cards, and candy. It was recently named Small Business of the Year by the Edmond Chamber of Commerce.
